Carl L. Mullenix

Carl Leo Mullenix, age 80, of Plainfield, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2024, surrounded by his family.  He was born December 20, 1943, in Wild Rose, Wisconsin, to Chester and Lillie (Moore) Mullenix.

Carl attended a one-room schoolhouse in Wild Rose, and was a 1962 graduate of Wild Rose High School.  On June 20, 1964, he married Marion Thompson in Waupaca.  Together they celebrated 59 years of marriage.

Carl worked as a truck driver most of his life, first driving a milk truck for Grande Cheese and then a semi for Weiland Trucking.  After retirement, he also drove school bus for many of the local schools.  He was a very hard-working and dedicated man.

Carl enjoyed camping, listening to country music, tinkering in his garage working on cars, riding his bike, and spending time with friends and family.  He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s school and sporting events.  Carl was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Wautoma, Wisconsin where he served as an usher.  He took great pride in helping others.  It did not matter if you were his family, a friend, or even a stranger.  If it was within his power to help someone, he would.

Carl is survived by his wife, Marion; three children, Carla Mullenix, of Holmes, NY; Lisa (Michael) Rogers of Stevens Point, WI; Jennifer (Ronald) Franklin, of Wautoma, WI; three grandchildren, Colleen Chapman, Andrew Franklin, and Lily Franklin; and one great-grandchild, Fletcher Franklin.  He is also survived by a brother, Raymond (Lynn) Mullenix; a sister, Alice Dunlavy; and a sister-in-law, Donna Hotchkiss.  He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.  He was blessed to love and be loved by so many.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Vernon Mullenix; and brothers-in-law, Donald Dunlavy and Terry Turner.
