Allan H. Erdman was called home October 23, 2024, while in hospice care at King Veteran’s Home.
Allan was born in Wild Rose, April 25, 1948 to Paul and Eleanor (Lesko) Erdman. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Almond. Allan married Vera Ann Krause on August 29, 1970 in Amherst. Al passed away peacefully with family members at his side.
Al was passionate about the deep roots he had in his family and in the Plainfield and Almond communities where he spent his entire life. He continued the family farm that his parents had started. He also continued a family tradition of trying a variety of farming-related business ventures. At various times he and his family did vegetable truck farming, raised dairy and beef cattle, grew ginseng, and raised pigs. He enjoyed his sons’ Pheasant Prairie Hunting Club days. Through all of those ventures, Allan was the master mechanic that kept things running and designed and built any custom equipment that was needed. Additionally, Al spent many hours working, catching up with customers and friends, at Plainfield Feed and Supply. Throughout his life, he could be heard telling stories and shooting the bull. Allan also honorably served his nation in the Army from 1968 to 1970 where he earned honors for marksmanship.
Al will be greatly missed by his children Lorrie (Kevin) Riemer of Mequon, Rodger (Jean) Erdman of Coloma, and Paul (Sabrina) Erdman of Almond. His grandchildren Sarah, Joshua, Timothy, Paul, Hannah Riemer, Megan (Bob Gilbert), Austin Erdman (Ashley Weimer), Lance, Lily Rose, Logan Erdman and great-grandsons, Philip Gilbert and Kayson Erdman. He is further survived by his brother, Jim (Mary ann), many loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 46 years, Vera, and brothers Ronald, Richard, and Jerald.
