Anna A. Scharf LaPorte passed away peacefully to her eternal home on Monday, January 26th, at the age of 97. She was born November 18, 1917 in Hancock, WI to Edward SR. and Francis Scharf. She married the late Vernon LaPorte SR. on October 16, 1939. Anna and Vernon were blessed with four loving children; Nona Bliske of Nekoosa, Gary (Viola) LaPorte of Coloma, Diane Roloff of Hancock and the late Vernon (Sandy) LaPorte JR.
Anna was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Deerfield, WI where she served with the ladies aid for over 50 years. Anna put many years of hard work and labor in all she did, both inside the home and out. She enjoyed sewing, needlework, braiding rugs, plants, gardening and she perfected canning; especially the pickles, as well as making home- made bread.
Anna will leave behind three children, 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, ten great- great grandchildren, and three sisters (Elvina, Linda and Janet). Anna is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon LaPorte SR., one son, Vernon (Bug) LaPorte JR.; her parents (Edward Sr. and Francis), two sisters (Amanda and Margaret), and one brother (Edward JR.).
Services will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church in Deerfield. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. and go until service time at 11:00 a.m.
