Biography
Anthony Sabatino, age 88, formerly of Milwaukee, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Preston Place CBRF in Redgranite. He was born October 24, 1923 in Milwaukee, the son of Pasquale and Angela (D'Amico) Sabatino. He married the former Hulda M. (Fechter) Flugge. She preceded him in death in 2006. He was a 1944 graduate of Marquette University in Milwaukee. Anthony was employed as a Chemical Engineer with Globe Union of Milwaukee, now known as Johnson Controls. He worked in battery research and went on to develop 41 patents all pertaining to automobile batteries. He was also instrumental in developing the machines that manufacture his patents. Later, he moved to Minnesota where he worked for and became vice president of Gould Battery in Minneapolis. He resided at White Bear Lake, MN and spent the winter months in Punta Gorda Isles, FL. He is survived by two sisters, Stephanie Sabatino, Redgranite, Rose Wendt (Neil Hart) Wautoma; one brother, Frank Sabatino (Linda Clemens) Wautoma. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Tom and Santo, and by one sister, Catherine Sabatino. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma with the Rev. Nathan A. Gauerke officiating. Interment services will be held on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Graceland Cemetery, Milwaukee. Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the Funeral Home.
