It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara L. (Pratt) Arendt at the age of 77 from Stevens Point, WI, formally from Plainfield, WI, who left us on August 6, 2024 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield, WI after a beautifully lived life with family by her side. Full of love, laughter, and resilience, she touched the lives of all that knew her.

Barb was born on April 14, 1947 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to Charles and Mildred (Smith) Pratt. She grew up in Plainfield, WI with her two sisters, graduating from Tri County High School. She continued her education on to UW-Stevens Point. While attending, she met her future husband, David Arendt and he talked her into moving to Germany, where he was stationed for a couple of years. They would get married in Basel, Switzerland during this time overseas. They would later divorce.

After returning from Germany, Barb settled in Nekoosa, WI, raising her three boys. She would eventually move back to the Plainfield, WI after her divorce, then to Stevens Point, WI to be closer to her family. She held various jobs throughout her life from being a Bank Teller to working at the Nekoosa and Almond Bancroft School Districts, which held a special place in her heart. Wherever she lived, she always had flower gardens that everyone could enjoy.

Barb always loved the company of others, whether it was while traveling, crafting, playing games, or her favorite, her family and friends. Her family and friends meant so much to her. She loved when she could have her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and grand pup’s all together, especially for Christmas. Her sense of humor and quick wit, filled everyone with warmth and light. She had an inspirational and selfless spirit, offering help and guidance to all who needed it, leaving a lasting impression on so many.

Barb is survived by her son’s Kurt (Lori) Arendt, Eric (Kristen Jezeski) Arendt, five grandchildren Alex (Kayla) Arendt, Joey (Tara) Arendt, Seth (Samantha) Lerch, Eric (Brianna) Roble, Tyler (Kenzie) Roble and seven great grandchildren Finn, Lakyn, Zoey, Conor, Keaton, Myles, and Mabel,

Further survived by her sister Cathy (Dick) Jorgensen, brother-in-law Tom Guth, and her nieces Jill (Ken) Jorgensen – Bagwell, Joanne Coyle, Jenni (Bryant) Stempski, and Janelle (Chris) Bently and many more family and friends.
