Barbara M. Schumacher-McGraw of Plainfield Wisconsin; passed away peacefully in her dream home on Horsehead Lake on January 11, 2025 one month before her 81st birthday. Barb was 80 years of age, she was born February 11, 1944 in Schenectady, New York. Barb spent the first 16 years of her life there. Her family relocated to Cudahy, Wisconsin, where she met the love of her life, Anton (Tony) Schumacher. They married April 7, 1962.
Barb raised her family enjoying hobbies like bowling, hunting, bookkeeping, painting, commissioned artist and gardening. Together Tony and Barb traveled the United States often, and internationally multiple times. In later years they loved playing dominoes and bird watching. Barb knew and loved observing several bird species including watching hatchlings; of Eagles, Hummingbird and Red Capped Cranes. Early November they discovered several Oriole nests. It's crazy to think of such a large bird to makes a tiny pouch for babies. Barb entertained great neighbors and friends often at the lake.
Barbara leaves behind her true love, husband for over 63 years Anton, and three children. Linda Walker-Schumacher-Zindler of Clintonville, Wisconsin; Wendy Schultz-Swosinski of Cudahy, Wi; and Jacob (Jack) Schumacher of West Allis, Wisconsin. Survived by sons-in-law; Ronald Walker (Linda) and Scott Swosinski (Wendy) and Daughter-in-law Ruth (Nagel).
Survived by two Grandchildren, Amy Zindler-Peeters (Linda) of Janesville, Wi. and Tommy Schultz (Wendy) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Survived by; Great Grandchildren Claudia Zindler and Mercede Suiter-Peeters (Amy) husband Nathon Suiter of Janesville, Wisconsin. Three Great Grandchildren, Nova and Layne (Claudia); Silas Suiter (Mercede) of Janesville, Wisconsin.
Survived by (Kittys’) husband Keith Kowalski of Bay View, Wisconsin; Niece Katherine (Krissy) husband Robert Draper and four children, DeAndre, Jaylen, Katie (Amanda), and Olivia, Ely, of Cudahy, Wisconsin. Survived by Becky Kowalski, daughter McKella of West Allis, Wisconsin. Great Niece of (Amanda) Nova of Milwaukee. Survived by Nieces and Nephews of (Joseph and Betty McGraw) of Duluth Minnesota. Niece Erin Worley, two children; Kaley and Jack Raleigh, North Carolina. Niece Shannon Mc Graw, Nephew Michael (Salem) McGraw of Duluth, MN Nephew Joe Jr. McGraw North Carolina. Survived by Nieces (Aurther Jr.-Art-Norman) of Green Bay, Wisconsin Niece Kelley Brusco of Camas, Washington children Michael of Hortonville, Wi. and Marinna of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Niece Cheryl Berkin-Augusty of Green Bay, Wisconsin and children, Great Niece Stephanie Cook two children, Jamie and Taylor of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Survived by (Billy) Nephew Terry of Florida, and Niece Dale Mc Graw, two children of Connecticut. Survived by cousin Billy Rufer of Schenectady, New York.
Preceded in death by her parents Arther and Ruth Mc Graw. Three brothers; William (Billy), Arther Jr. (Art-Norman), and Joseph (Joe). One sister Katherine (Kitty) Kowalski. Preceded in death by Grandsons; Jimmy Schultz (Wendy) and Vincent (Vinnie) Zindler (Linda). Preceded by Aunt Margie and Aunt Albertice (mother-sister) of Schenectady, New York. Barbara's Niece Amanda (Mandy), (Kitty) Kowalski of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Barbara was thankful for the visits, phone calls, cards, prayers, flowers, gifts, condolences and well wishes, prior to her passing. It meant so much to know she was loved and thought of in her time of distress. In lieu of services the family requests condolences be sent to Stahl Funeral home of Plainfield.
