Bernard J. Lauer, age 94, of rural Almond, passed away Tuesday morning, September 2, 2014 at his home.
He was born June 5, 1920 in the Town of Oasis, the son of Jasper and Mary (Meyer) Lauer. He married Marion K. Hetzel on August 22, 1942 in Almond.
Bernard farmed in the Town of Oasis his entire life. He was an active member of St. Pauls Catholic Church, Plainfield.
He is survived by his wife, Marion K. Lauer, Almond; six children, Patrick (Mary) Lauer, Kathleen (Paul) Paddock, Mary (John) Kapraun, Wayne (Cathleen) Lauer, Dennis (Carol) Lauer, Michael (Paula) Lauer; 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; he is further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, a grandson Eugene Lauer and a daughter-in-law, Linda Lauer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pauls Catholic Church, Plainfield with the Rev. Paul Lippert officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014 from 6:00 8:00 p.m. at St. Pauls Catholic Church with a parish rosary service starting at 6:00 p.m. and visitation from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of services.
