Biography

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Prochnow, age 87, of Wautoma, formerly of the town of Silver Cliff, Marinette County, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Silver Lake Manor in Wautoma. She was born December 10, 1924 at Niagara, WI, the daughter of Alfred Earl and Marvel Bernice Monroe. She married Earl Prochnow on June 28, 1947 at Niagara. He preceded her in death in May 2006.
Betty and her late husband resided in Oak Creek, WI for many years before moving to the town of Silver Cliff. She was active with the Silver Cliff American Legion Auxillary and will be fondly remembered for her many craft items at Miss Betty's Country Store. She had resided at Silver Lake Manor in Wautoma for the past three years. Betty is survived by two sisters, Beverly (Roger) Tornow, Wild Rose, Marvel Ruth (Robert) Billing, Wautoma; her sister-in-law, Donna Prochnow, Oak Creek. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and her dear friends at Silver Lake Manor in Wautoma.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Myron, Norbert, Ronald and Robert; one Sister, Shirley Popp. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Messar Funeral Home in Wausaukee. Burial will be at Silver Cliff Cemetery, town of Silver Cliff, Marinette County. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established. The family wishes to express heart- felt appreciation to Linda Zimmerman and the entire staff of Silver Lake Manor in Wautoma along with Agnesian Hospice Hope for their care and compassion
for Betty.
