Carol Scantlin

Carol L. Scantlin , age 77, of Steven Point, formerly of Plainfield, passed away peacefully, April 17, 2022, Easter Sunday, at North Haven Assisted Living where she was a resident for the last five and half years.

She was born March 27, 1945 in Milwaukee the daughter of Harold and Betty (Stainbrook) Mau.

Carol was a 1963 graduate of Tri-County High School.  After graduation, Carol went on to become a nurse’s aide. Her entire 45 year career was dedicated to taking care of other people’s loved ones. She retired in 2008 and took care of her own loved one, her mother, for a number of years.   Carol was a devoted mother, daughter, sister and a friend to many.

She is survived by her two children, Matthew (Ivonne) Scantlin and Denice (Kyle) O’Leary and her sisters and brothers, Judy Crawford, Allen (Toni) Mau, Jan (Pat) Gustafson, Karen McClure, Alvin (Deb) Mau, and Dave (Cathy) Mau; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Chuck Crawford.

A heartfelt “Thank You” to Carol’s family at North Haven.  Carol loved her home there, loved all of  you as well as her dear friends Joyce and Anna.

Funeral Services will be held on April 30th  at 12 noon at the Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.  Carol will be laid to rest next to her parents in the Plainfield Cemetery.
