Catherine "Cathy" L. (Sherman) Schaars

Catherine L. “Cathy” Schaars, age 50, of Stevens Point, formerly of Plainfield, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, February 7, 2020 at Ascension St. Michael’s Hospital, Stevens Point.

She was born April 17, 1969 in Wild Rose the daughter of Leone and JoAnn (Wallner) Sherman.  She married Thomas Schaars on September 24, 1994, they later divorced.

Cathy was a 1987 graduate of Tri-County Schools. After graduation she worked at the Plainfield Truck Stop, The Store in Stevens Point and as a CNA at River Pines in Stevens Point.

She is survived by her children, Nicholas and Jennifer Schaars, Stevens Point; her mother, JoAnn Sherman, Punta Gorda, FL.; special aunt, Marilyn Stahl, North Fort Meyers, FL.; further survived by cousins and many special friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leone; her brother, Joseph Sherman and her grandparents, Joseph and Catherine Wallner and John and Cardelia Sherman.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. in the Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Burial will be in the St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.  Please visit, www.stahlfuneralhome.com to share your condolences or a special memory with Cathy’s family.
