Biography

Clarence O. Wedde, age 92, of Wautoma, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 6, 2010 at Heartland House, Wautoma. He was born April 26, 1918 in the Town of Wautoma, the son of Otto and Mabel (Fritz) Wedde. He married Gertrude I. Weishaar on May 18, 1941 at Wautoma. She preceded him in death on Sept. 20, 1999. Clarence attended Spees Corner School. He farmed the family homestead in the Town of Wautoma for many years. He also worked at the former Holtz & Proud
Implement dealership of Wautoma, Speed Queen and Fritz Sand & Gravel. Clarence was employed at the Waushara County Highway Department for 14 years until his retirement in 1981. He was well known for dehorning cattle in the area for local farmers. He also enjoyed polka music and was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wautoma. He is survived by three children, Dennis (Darlene) Wedde, Mt. Morris, Susan Gabryshak, Wautoma, James (Sally) Wedde, Oregon, WI.; grandchildren, Amy Hedrick (fiancé©, Keith Giebel), Tracy (Tracy) Voss, Julie (Jerry) Schauer, Trudi Gabryshak (fiancé©, Steven Moore), William "Bill" (Rebecca) Wedde, Dr. Peter (Dawn) Gabryshak, Garrett Wedde, Nicholas Wedde, Rick (Erika) Radke, Ryan (Lauren) Radke, Roxanne (John) Oldham; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Joshua, Zachary, Jared, Samantha, Casey, Jordan, Jesse, Patriece, Pierce, Evan, Beau, and Alexa; great-great grandchildren, Jayd, Hayden, Anniken, and Harmony; one sister, Gloria Schultz, Wautoma; two sisters-in-law, Tootie Weishaar, Ripon, Goldine Weir, Black River Falls; his former son-in-law, Pete Gabryshak, Wautoma. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and brother-in-law, Adella (Lawrence) Arveson, and his brother-in-law, Marvin Schultz. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma with Rev. Gregory D. Hyatt officiating. Inurnment will be at Wautoma Union Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. Clarence's family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to all of his friends and the staff of Heartland House, Wautoma.
