David A. Fowler

May 2, 1937 — March 23, 2025

Hancock

David A. Fowler born May 2 1937 in Rockford, Illinois went to his eternal home on March 23 2025. David lived most of his life in Hancock, Wisconsin. He left this world unexpectantly surrounded by his loving family at a local hospital.

He was the beloved son of Florence and Laurence Fowler. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and a grandson, two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.

David is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Carol Fowler, his sisters Elizabeth Johnston and Carolyn Howell, his children and their spouses, Pamela Bailey (Chris), Randy Fowler (Cathy), Brian Fowler(Julie), Sandra Meier (Brad) and Gary Fowler(Kelly), 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and sisters-in-law, Nancy Kemnetz and Janet Galetka and brother-in-law, Keith Kemnetz.

David and Carol were married shortly after high school.

David worked several jobs in his younger years. He bought a Morning Glory milk route in 1973. This job was well suited to his outgoing personality. His younger 4 children all loved to ride with Dad on the milk route and have great stories to tell. After selling the milk route in 1979 David worked as a delivery driver for Kerschner’s Gas until retirement. He also enjoyed that job and was dedicated to his co workers and customers.

David enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years. He enjoyed playing and watching sports. At home he played basketball and ping pong with his children and grandchildren. He was a life long auto enthusiast. He and his sons and best friend loved going to car shows. These became great bonding times for all. Another way to have fun was to play card and board games. He was sharp and a bit competitive and a hoot to play with!

David's main passions were truly his family and church. He was a wonderful caring father. David loved children and they loved him. The picture of the grandchildren giggling on his lap will forever be in our memories. He was a long time member of the Hancock Wesleyan Church. He served on the church board for many years. He had a beautiful voice and often helped with the music. He was meticulous and had a knack for home and yard work and repair. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it. David had a joyful spirit. Those who came for a visit went away with a smile. David will be remembered for his gentle kindness, love and his unwavering faith in God. There will be a painful void in the hearts of his family, friends and many more whose lives were touched by him.
