David W. Poetzel

David W. Poetzel , age 81, of Plainfield, passed away suddenly November 17, 2015 at his home. He was born December 6, 1933 in Milwaukee, the son of George and Anita (Ullrich) Poetzel. He married Sandra (nee Hein) Bergene on September 15, 2001 at Plainfield. David was a Master Plumber for 61 years. He was an active member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church of Plainfield, the Tri-County Thresherman’s Association and the Knights of Columbus. David enjoyed gardening, designing and revising anything and most of all riding his Harley Davidson. David enlightened the lives of others with his unique personality and wonderful sense of humor. Always a joke or story to be told. He is survived by his wife, Sandie Poetzel; his daughter, Anne (Sean) Denure; his stepdaughter, Tammy Bergene; his loving grandchildren, Brandon, Beau and Dustin Bergene; his siblings, Mary Ann Fritsch, Cecile (Fred) Bonte, Tom Poetzel, Michael Poetzel and Mary Beth (Gary) Geipel; he is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Jennifer Poetzel and his stepson, Scott Bergene. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 12:00 noon at St. Paul Catholic Church, Plainfield. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. Friday until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
