Donald D. Hilpipre Sr.

Donald Dean Hilpipre Sr. age 91, of Plainfield, passed away Saturday evening, March 5, 2022 at his home.

He was born on November 30, 1930 in Blairsburg, Iowa, to Charles V. and Jesse Bell (Rapp) Hilpipre. He married Marirose Reid in 1957 in Plainfield.

Donald served his country in the United States Air Force from 1952- 1956.  He later moved to Plainfield to farm with his sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Richard King. He purchased Don’s Bar in 1961 and also worked as a mail carrier for 37 years. Don was always a hard worker, sometimes having 2 or 3 jobs at once.  He was a good husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He would do a favor for anyone that needed help.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marirose; three children, Don Jr. (Rosemarie), Diana and Denise (Dennis);  grandchildren, Cory, Aaron (Danni) Hilpipre, Nick (Kristy), Dave (Jordy) Buda, Amber (Agustin) Zavala, Trevor (Datonn) Hanke, Zane, Ian (Amber), Evan Harris; great grandchildren, Jera, Jaeda, Jazmin, Jocelyn, Jivan, Dominic, Lucy and Grayson; one brother-in-law, Verne Diedrich; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, Alvin, Wayne, Howard, Virgil, Charles Jr. and Bernie; five sisters, Vera, LaVonne, Letty, Mildred and Mary Lou, all of Iowa and grandson, Elishua Hanke.

Per Don’s wishes no formal services will be held.
