Donald Duane Wallner

April 23, 1925 - January 19, 2015

Donald Duane Wallner, age 89, of Plainfield, passed away Monday morning, January 19, 2015 at his home with his family at his side.
He was born April 23, 1925 in the Township of Almond, the son of Antone "Tony" and Gladys (Walker) Wallner. He married Dorothy L. Johnson on March 12, 1950 in the Plainfield United Methodist Church. She preceded him in death on July 2, 2012.
Don was a man that loved talking with people, working on lawn tractors and spending time with family and friends. Don had a love for the outdoors where he spent most of his life farming on the family farm and later working for Burns and Sons Farms in Almond. Mr. Wallner enjoyed attending the Tri-County Threshermans and sporting events at Tri-County Area Schools where he was recipient of the "#1 Fan" from the Tri-County Booster Club.
He is survived by his loving children, Warren (Lia) Wallner, Bancroft, Donna (Jim) Potter, Washburn, the late Duane (Joan G.) Wallner, Plainfield, Joan (Bob) Sullivan, Hancock, William (Sharon) Wallner, Ripon; he is a proud grandfather of Brian (Friday) Wallner, Al (Kim) Romo, Lisa Sullivan, Tori Ida, Lenny Sullivan, the late Benjamin Potter, Bobbie Jo Sullivan, Duane Potter, Chris Wallner, A.J. Wallner, Jacob Wallner, Daniel Wallner and Maggie Wallner; great grandfather to, Cody (Brittany) Bennett, Justin Ida, Emma Wallner, Gregory Ida, Hayden Wallner, Evelyn Potter, Aria and Aubrey Wallner; one brother, Walker Wallner and five sisters, Jean Barden, Lauretta Detlor, Elizabeth Ingersoll, Dorothy Helmrick and Carol Klabunde; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary; a son Duane and a grandson Benjamin.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 12 noon in the Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield with the Rev. Howard Kruize officiating. Burial will be in the Plainfield Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home.
