Evelyn R. (Ebling) Engstrom

Evelyn R. Engstrom, age 77, of Hancock, passed away Friday, August 30, 2024 at her daughter’s home in Hancock after a courageous battle with cancer.

Evelyn was born February 18, 1947 in Milwaukee the daughter of Wilheim and Della LaVarnway Ebling.

She met Howard Moreland in the summer of 1965. Together they had two girls and later divorced in 1974. She was a single mother until she met the love of her life, Ricky Engstrom in the spring of 1980. The were married on August 22nd 1980.  Ricky and Evelyn moved to Hancock in October of 1998. Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her family, playing Texas Hold’m, Poker, fishing, shopping and going to the casino.

She is survived by two daughters, Christine L. Sheppard and Stacy Kniprath-Durrant, both of Hancock; her grandchildren, Ashley Engstrom, Joshua (Bambi) Wilson, Kaylee and Tiffany Sheppard, Adam, Joey, William (Elizabeth), Tommy Durrant and  Mariah (Kyle) Pavek; 18 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ricky and two brothers, James “Jimmy” Rohrer and Jack Gerkhe and son-in-law, Mark Durrant.
