Fidel Zapata
April 15, 1936 — February 10, 2020
Fidel Zapata, age 83, of Bancroft, passed away Monday afternoon, February 10, 2020 at his home after a courageous battle with diabetes.
He was born April 15, 1936 in Pozo de Acuna, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, the son of Meliton and Maclovia (Alverez) Zapata. He married Maria Salce on August 15, 1997.
Fidel worked for many local business’s in the Bancroft area. He was a devoted employee and family man that put others before himself. He enjoyed deer hunting and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Zapata, Bancroft; his loving daughters, Maclovia Walker, Marcella Zapata, Magdalena Perez and Victoria Zapata; his 19 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.
