Gail H. Mattice, age 66, of Wautoma, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Silver Lake Manor after a short illness.
He was born May 16, 1956 in Sturgeon Bay, the son of Alfred L. and Betty R. (Cook) Mattice. He married Trudy L. Turner on December 4, 1982 in Wild Rose.
Gail was a graduate of Wild Rose High School. He later enlisted in the United States Army where he served from 1976 until 1979 in Fort Richardson, Alaska. Gail was employed and retired from Vinton Construction. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys hunting, trapping and fishing. His greatest love was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Trudy L. Mattice of Wautoma; his two sons, Tyler Mattice, Illinois and Travis (special friend, Lynn Metcalf) Mattice, Wild Rose; his granddaughters, Avery and Kinsey; one brother, David (Barbara) Mattice; two brothers-in-law, Sheldon and Curtis Turner; his uncle Bob (Wanita) Mattice; Further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Eldon and Shirley Turner.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hope Lutheran Church, Wautoma with full military honors to follow. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Town of Dakota, Waushara County. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Gail’s name. The family wishes to thank Wild Rose Hospital and Silverlake Manor staff.
