Gayle W. Zwetz, age 88, of Hancock, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, Tuesday afternoon, July 25, 2017 at home.
He was born August 30, 1928 the son of Reginold and Vala (Walker) Zwetz. He married Renona Heidger on November 23, 1957.
Gayle was a 1946 graduate of Hancock High School. Gayle was an ambitious man that enjoyed working at the local lumberyard, drove truck hauling cars, and later worked at Georgia Pacific for 34 years before retiring in 1990. He enjoyed driving potato truck for G&L Bacon Farms during harvest season.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, watching deer and birds, bowling, gardening, mowing lawn, watching sports, farming, reading and playing cards.
He is survived by his loving wife, Renona Zwetz, Hancock; two sons, Cal (Myra) Zwetz and Kurt (Marcie) Zwetz; one daughter, Mona Zwetz; his grandchildren, Stepanie (Charles) Caine, Shaun (Brittany), Justin (Amanda), Kyle (Danielle), Jennifer (Josh), Nicholas (Nicole) and Megan; 15 great grandchildren; one sister, Darlene (Arleigh); further survived by nieces, special neighbors and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Ardell.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
