Gene H. Phillips
June 2, 1934 — June 4, 2017
Gene H. Phillips , age 83, of Plainfield, passed away Sunday morning, June 4, 2017 at Portage County Health Care Center in Stevens Point.
He was born June 2, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Irving and Zaida Mae (Corwin) Phillips. He married Betty Jo Baker on February 1, 1954 in Des Plaines, Illinois. She preceded him in death on December 31, 2005.
Gene was a simple man who enjoyed sharing in conversation with family and friends. He was employed at Plainfield Trucking for several years before his retirement.
He is survived by his three sons, Rickey (Alice) Phillips, Almond, Randy (Julie) Phillips, Plainfield, Ronald (Lori) Phillips, Plainfield; his loving grandchildren, Andrea, Shane, Adam, Branden, Kendra and Kacie; his great grandchildren; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his son, Russell Phillips.
Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
