Gerene Reiser

Biography

Gerene L. Reiser, age 86, of Mount Morris, died peacefully Saturday evening, May 19, 2012 at her home. She was born March 28, 1926 in Logansport, Indiana, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Helmuth Pipkorn. She married Erwin G. "Doc" Reiser
on May 5, 1944 in Milwaukee. Gerene was a graduate of the State Teachers College in Milwaukee. She taught 5th grade at the 24th Street School in Milwaukee. She and her husband moved to Mount Morris in 1982. Gerene was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in the Town of Mount Morris. She enjoyed square dancing, clogging, golfing and bowling. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Erwin G. "Doc" Reiser, Mount Morris; one son, Robert E. (Ann) Reiser, Charlotte, North Carolina; two sisters, Ellowene (Marvin) Truebenbach, North Carolina and Andrene (Carl) Reisenbuechler, Tennessee. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Gerene was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the Town of Mount Morris with the Rev. William E. Meier officiating. Burial will be in Howe's Corners Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
