Grace A. (Koch) Stamas, age 80, passed away peacefully, at Bethel Center in Arpin, Wisconsin on Sunday May 21, 2017, from heart failure and Parkinson’s disease.

Grace was born September 11, 1936 in Wood County, Wisconsin, to John and Viola (Kloth) Koch.  She attended a one room Clover School, where she took two grades in one year, graduating at the age of 16 from Tri-County High School, Plainfield in 1953.  She moved to Milwaukee, where she worked at Cudahy Packing.  She met and married John Stamas on August 2, 1954 at the Greek Orthodox Church in Milwaukee.  To this union, two sons were born, James and Anthony Stamas.  John and Grace were later divorced.

Grace was very artistic, loved her sons, doing crafts and most of all, loved the Green Bay Packers and watching Packer football faithfully.

She is survived by her two sons, James Stamas, Frankville, WI., Anthony Stamas, Milwaukee; her devoted brother, Jacquard Koch, Wisconsin Rapids; her sister, Edna Sohn, Idaho Falls, Idaho; further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, older sister, Florence Rodrigues; nephew, Frank Rodrigues, Jr., and niece, Kim Sohn Young; twin’s baby sister, Viola and brother, John and baby sister, Rosa who all died at birth.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Burial will be in the Plainfield Cemetery.  Family and friends may greet the family from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of services.   Please visit www.stahlfuneralhome.com to share your condolences or a message with Grace’s family.  The Stahl Funeral Home of Plainfield is assisting the family with arrangements.
