Hilda Olson

Biography

Hilda Olson, age 87, of Wautoma, passed away Friday evening, June 24, 2011 at Berlin Memorial Hospital. She was born Sept. 1, 1923 in Westfield, the daughter of Arthur and Ella (Bartz) Kanneman. She married Chester R. Olson on Nov. 24, 1946. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1968. Hilda and her husband farmed in the Town of Mount Morris and she also worked in the kitchen at the Lutheran Retreat in Mount Morris. Later, Hilda worked for many years at the former Waushara Home Building Center in Wautoma until her retirement. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Wautoma. She is survived by four sisters, Edna Blaski, Mukwonago, Doris Domiter, Oshkosh, Avis Luedke, Neshkoro, Alice Grave, Berlin; two brothers, Roger Kanneman, Markesan, David (Karen) Kanneman, Ripon; special friends, Ken and June Lapp, Mount Morris. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers, Ralph, Elmer Earl, Harvey, Arthur, Lester, Donald, and Harold Kanneman; three sisters, Shirley Seeliger, Ethel Rich, and Helen Niemuth. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma with Rev. Nathan A. Gauerke officiating. Burial will be in Mount Morris Holden Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
