Imogene M. (Makaryk) Frost

Imogene (Jean) M. Frost, age 88, of Plainfield, passed away Saturday morning, July 9, 2016 at Wild Rose Manor.

She was born August 4, 1927 in Defiance County Ohio, the daughter of Rolland and Lenora Fleming Jones.  She married Edward J. Makaryk on May 1, 1948 in Harvey, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on May 19, 2005.  She later married Roger L. Frost on April 21, 2007, he preceded her in death on April 21, 2015.

Jean worked as a teller at M & I Bank in Almond for a number of years.  She then owned and operated Springwater Motel in the Town of Springwater.  Jean also owned and operated the Almond Restaurant and Motel.  In her later years she enjoyed spending time with her family.  She attended New Life Assembly and the United Methodist Church in Plainfield.

She is survived by her son, Edward J. (Barb) Makaryk Jr.; her grandchildren, Christopher of Plainfield, Jennifer Melnick of Sycamore, IL,  Matthew (Kelli) Columbus, GA, Kathryn (Ryan) Sullivan, Wild Rose and Rebecca (Tyler) Otto of Plainfield.  She is also survived by ten great-grand children, Lucas, Madison, Paige, and Jacob Makaryk;  Kyleigh and Andrew Makaryk; Robbie and Sarah Melnick; Jaycee Sullivan and Vincent Otto.  Surviving her also is a sister, Eileen Tibbie; nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by two step-sons, Jack (Jenny) Frost, Colorado; Chuck Frost, Plainfield and Brenda (Mark) Young, Tennesee and five step-grandchildren.   In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Dorothy Windsor, grandson- in -law Stephen Melnick and a great granddaughter Allison Jean Makaryk.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Burial will be in the Plainfield Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and from 10:00 a.m. Friday until the time of services at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be submitted at www.plainfieldfuneralhome.com
