Jerry R. Hansen

Jerry R. Hansen, age 86 of Bancroft, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday morning, July 1, 2021 at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau.
He was born June 15, 1935 in Portage County the son of Harry and Edith (Sherman) Hansen. He married Virginia L. Corter on November 12, 1960.
Jerry attended Tri-County High School. He worked on the family farm for many years before he became employed at Port Edwards Paper Mill for 26 years until his retirement. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and he also enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Virginia L. Hansen, Bancroft; two children, Tom (Mary) Hansen, Michele (Troy) Heath; his daughter-in-law, Sarah Hansen; grandchildren, Jacob, Cami, Katrina (Austin), Jared (Heather), Jesse, Julie and Abby; his great grandchildren, Hunter, Logan, Layliah, Connor and Bennett (Big Benny); his canine companion, Molly; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his three brothers and one sister; his son, David Hansen and granddaughter, Amanda Hansen.
