oseph L. Lang, age 79 of Hancock, passed away peacefully, Wednesday morning, May 26, 2021 at his home
with his family at this side.
He was born May 31, 1941 in Michigan, the son of Leander F. and Pauline M. (Milletics) Lang. On June 3,
1961 he married Beverly Jean Hawkyard, and they were later blessed with three wonderful daughters, Paula,
Connie and Kris.
Joe grew up in Michigan and settled in Kenosha, WI where he raised his family. After his retirement in 1996 he
moved to his vacation home in rural Hancock. Joe was a humble man and was very proud of his family. He
enjoyed life to the fullest and although family and friends came first, he especially loved hunting, traveling and
visiting the casinos. He was an avid Detroit Lions fan and never hesitated to rub it in if they beat the Packers or
the Bears.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jean Lang, Hancock; his daughters, Paula J. (special friend, Michael
Hopkins) Schnorr, Connie M. (special friend, Jim Kirschner) Lang and Kris (Raul) Calles; 8 grandchildren and
17 great grandchildren; he is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jack and Donnie.
A Celebration of Joe’s life will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. with a service at 1:00 p.m.. in the Stahl Celebration and Remembrance Center, Wautoma. Burial will bein the St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, Plainfield. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Diabetes
Association in his name would be greatly appreciated
