Judith A. “Judy” Crawford, age 80, of Almond, passed away unexpectedly Monday afternoon, October 7, 2024 at her home.
She was born May 30, 1944 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Harold and Betty (Stainbrook) Mau. She married Raymond Chuck Crawford on June 12, 1965. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2021. Judy was a 1962 graduate of Tri-County High School. She later went on to work at photography studios, Stucker Bus, and Two Lakes Restaurant. She devoted her later years to taking care of her husband Chuck. Judy was a loving and caring woman. She would spend hours on the phone offering counsel and comfort to friends and family. I think most would agree that she was the best listener!
She is survived by her son James Crawford, Circle Pines MN, daughter Christy (Ray) Crawford- Wysocki Almond, grandchildren Eliezer, Canaan and Ilille Crawford and Emily Wysocki and Hunter Laska. Her siblings, Allen (Toni) Mau, Jan (Pat) Gustafson, Karen McClure, Alvin (Deb) Mau, Dave (Cathy) Mau and Sister-in-law Judy Fillar. She is also survived by life long best friends Betty Daberkow, Connie Servey, Joyce VanBuren, and Bestie/Partner in Crime Janet King. She is further survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Carol Scantlin, niece Kimberly Fillar and dear friend Kathy Pennau.
Private family services will be held. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Spiritland Cemetery, Town of Almond, Portage County, Wisconsin.
