Karen Illene (Tritt) Sergo, of Redgranite passed away March 24, 2015 due to complications while fighting pancreatic cancer. She was born August 18, 1942. Karen married Willkie Sergo, who preceded her in death in July 1970. She was a very proud, hardworking woman with minimal wants. After years of working at and managing Lela's in Redgranite and Family Fil in Wautoma, she retired to enjoy a clean house, some solitude, visits from family, monthly pizza night and traveling with her sisters.
Surviving Karen is her son: Chester "Chet" (Mary Kay) Sergo, Plano, IL; sisters: Jo (Maynard) Carpenter, Middleton, Marilyn (Richard) Spiczenski, Oshkosh, Patricia (Robert) Nigbor, Redgranite, Virginia "Gert" (Ronald) Wichman, Wautoma, Sally (William) Schmelzer, Wautoma, Lynette "PeeWee" (Tom) Littwin; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Karen was preceded in death by her mother: Lela (Fondel) Tritt; stepfather: Herb Goodwin; father: Basil Tritt; brother: Basil "Buck" Tritt and husband: Willkie Sergo.
Since 5 years old, Chet grew up without a father and was helped greatly by family, friends, and people from the community. That whole "it takes a village to raise a child thing." In lieu of flowers, cards, or gifts, the family asks that you please find a child in your neighborhood or hometown who has lost a parent and take him or her out hunting, fishing, or to a high school, college, or pro sporting event. Please help to just show them what's out there.
A private service will be held at a later date.
