LeRoy W. Kurkowski , age 82, of Hancock, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Wisconsin Veterans Home in King where he has resided for the past six months.
He was born April 9, 1935 in Milwaukee, the son of Victor and Lillian (Trawitzke) Kurkowski. He married Mary Ann Riemer on June 30, 1956, she preceded him in death on October 24, 2001. He later married Arlene (Grabow) Adrian on November 12, 2005.
LeRoy moved the Hancock area in 1969. LeRoy served his country in the United States Marine Corps in November of 1952 and was later honorably discharged. He was employed as a logging contractor/business owner. He enjoyed spending time outside in his garden, or tinkering in his shop, playing bingo, golfing or playing pool.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene A. Grabow, Hancock; his children, Joe (Lynn Dee) John, and Cheryl (Jerry); his loving grandchildren, Danielle, Rick and John Jr. and great grandchildren; Cali, Ashlyn and Logan; his stepdaughter, Debbie Grabow, Colorado; his brothers Donald (Terry) and Duane and brother-in-law Robert. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his first wife Mary Ann he was preceded in death by, his sister Maryann, Elaine, Beverly, Marlene, and sister-in laws, Bonnie and Gayle.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield. Burial with full military honors will be in the Hancock Cemetery.
