Lester G. Rivers

Lester G. Rivers, age 85 of Plainfield, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday morning January 18, 2017 at his home.

He was born January 18, 1932 in Milwaukee, the son of Erwin and Anita (Koeske) Rivers.  He married Mary D. Clendenning on September 8, 1956 in Milwaukee.

Les worked for the American Can Company for 33 years. He later moved to Plainfield to enjoy retirement. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1957.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Mary, of Plainfield; his sons Keith (Corie) and Craig (Cassandra); his grandson  Joseph (Nicole) and granddaughter Jamie (friend Rob Limbach), and grandsons Andrew and Scott Rivers;  great grandchildren Aubrey and Blake. Brother of Elaine (the late Walter) Young, Joan (the late Al) Gratton, and John (Alice) Rivers.  Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Erwin and Anita. Three sisters, Betty (Carl) Young, Dottie (Jake) Jacobs, and Marilyn Forrest. Two brothers Robert (surviving sister-in- law Judy) and James (surviving sister-in-law Judy).

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield.  Burial will be in the Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. Monday until the time of services at the funeral home.
