Biography
Lorayne D. Hakala, age 88, of Wautoma, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2011 at her residence. She was born February 21, 1922 in Chicago, Il., the daughter of Michael and Ann (Sauer) Sieverson. She married Edward A. Hakala on June 15, 1946 in Chicago. He preceded her in the death on Jan. 27, 1995. Lorayne was employed by Apollo Plastics of Chicago for a number of years. She and her husband moved to Wautoma in 1980. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma. Lorayne belonged to the Council of Catholic Women and Little Flower Devotion prayer group. Also, Lorayne enjoyed helping in the church office with bulletins and mailings. She is survived by one son, Michael Hakala, Wautoma; one sister, Louise Sieverson, Chicago; sister-in-law, Bertha Zavorski, Arbor Vitae; brother-in-law, Bob Binder, Westfield. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, Terry and Cindy Martz family, Wautoma. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Lee Hakala on March 10, 1996, her parents, and by two brothers, Lee and Michael. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma with the Rev. Robert L. Stegmann officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Wautoma.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
