Lyle M. Schmackel

Lyle M. Schmackel, age 59, of Bancroft, passed away peacefully at home on March 25, 2016.
He was born January 24, 1957 in Wild Rose, the son of Lyle and Velma (Johnston) Schmackel. He married Elaine (Prondzinski) Schmackel on August 23, 1975.
Lyle was retired from Del Monte after 37 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a Ford fanatic. Lyle was also passionate about World War II history.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine; his loving children, Joe Schmackel (Shellie Hansen), Christine and Jeff Spaay and his grandchildren, Abbigail and Katherine; his sisters, Doris and Alberta; Lyle is further survived by other relatives and many friends.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Mary.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield. Family and friends may call from 3:00 p.m. Tuesday until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Bancroft Fire Department.
