On October 9th, 2022 surrounded by her daughter Julie and son Jeff the angels came to welcome Marjorie Irene Gibson home.

Marjorie Bender was born September 4th, 1937 to Arthur and Irene (McIntee) Bender. Marge grew up in Bancroft WI with her siblings Bonnie (Johnson) and Harlan (Bender). Her creativity, imagination and love of nature evolved from a childhood appreciation of the outdoors and all the wonderous gifts it provided. Marjorie graduated from Almond High School in 1955 and entered the workforce.

She married Clarence (Don) Hunt and soon would begin to fulfill her dream of becoming a mother. The greatest joy of Marge’s life was becoming a mother to Julie, Jeff and Janelle. She was a dedicated and hardworking mother, Marge unwaveringly put the needs of her children and their well being at the forefront of all her decisions. A skilled seamstress she spent countless hours creating beautiful clothing for her children.  As her children grew to adults she continued nurturing and supporting them as they embarked to create families of their own.

Marge relished time spent with her seven grandchildren. She showed each of them the delicate beauty of nature with her carefully tended flowers. Taught them that love can indeed be sewn into every stitch of a handmade quilt, and patience was rewarded when you waited for the pie to cool before that first delicious bite. A master at checkers with her grandchildren occasionally she might let you win, but it was also important to learn to lose with dignity and grace, and to show perseverance when you come back to try again. A day at grandmas could find a world of wonder as she shared her treasures. She delighted in the sight of bright-eyed curiosity as she gave the kids time to explore and experience life at a little slower pace. A teacher at heart, her lessons came in a way only grandmothers can offer. Marge was blessed to snuggle and shower love upon five great grandchildren who brought her immeasurable joy.

Marjorie later married Charles (Chuck) Gibson. They shared a kindred creative spirit during their too short journey together. They enjoyed searching for unique collectibles at estate sales, auctions, and garage sales. Marge always had the soul of an artist who could take the ordinary and make it extraordinary. She enjoyed quilting and crafting often gifting her handmade treasures. Her quiet kindness set you at ease when joining her try your hand at a project or to simply enjoy a meal or cup of coffee together.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Irene Bender, her husband Charles Gibson, and her daughter Janelle Radant.

Marge is survived by her daughter Julie (Bob) Levelius, son Jeff (Nikki) Hunt, grandchildren; Ben (Steve) Levelius, Kailee (Travis) Borchert, Dustin (Amie) Hunt, Jonny (Kayla) Levelius, Jena (Edgar) Levelius, Avery (Shannon) Faehling, and Thomas Hunt, great-grandchildren; Grant, Claire, and Molly Borchert, Austin and Charley Hunt. Sister Bonnie (Dave) Johnson and brother Harlan (Margaret) Bender and son-in-law Al Radant.

The family would like to thank the hospice nurses and care givers at Acorn Hills for the care and comfort provided to Marge in her final weeks.
