Mary I. Meddaugh, age 88, of Wautoma, formerly of Bancroft, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday morning, February 9, 2022 at Silver Lake Manor in Wautoma.

She was born March 5, 1933 in Altoona, Wisconsin the daughter of Richard H. Metcalf Sr. and Mabel (Norton) Casper.  She married Carroll Meddaugh on April 23, 1949 in Plainfield. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1977.

Mary was a very caring lady that put people before herself. This was evident in her working with children in the Foster Grandparent Program at Almond/Bancroft school district for 16 years.  She was also active in volunteer driving for Commission on Aging.  Mary had a great sense of humor. She was a faithful member of Bancroft Baptist Church, enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Carol (Donald) Phillips, John Meddaugh, David (Barbara) Meddaugh, Joseph (Beverly) Meddaugh, Eldena “Cookie” (Norm) Koepp, Robert Meddaugh, Michael (Pam) Meddaugh, Lorene Steinke, Steve (Rose) Meddaugh, Andy Meddaugh, Penny (David) Weis, 29 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Edith Johns and Evelyn Kramer, one brother Richard Metcalf Jr.; stepfather, Joe Casper, grandson, Tyler Meddaugh, grandson Carroll Meddaughand great granddaughter, Sienna Weis and daughter-in-law, Joy Meddaugh and niece Mabel Maine.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield with the Pastor Jeff Silha officiating.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Pine Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the funeral home.
