Michael Bednarek

Micahel Bednarek passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, November 22, 2016.

Michael was born the eldest son of Louis and Dolly (Souder) Bednarek on February 9, 1948.  He grew up on the family farm in the town of Wautoma and graduated from both Wautoma High School and the Waushara County Teacher’s College.  He worked at many construction jobs during his lifetime, planted millions of trees.  He supplied people in the area with delicacy for many years.  He was also a superb genealogist, loaded with information on the history of the area and family connections.  He could be seen at many area auctions, trying to save the history of the area’s buildings and early farming equipment.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents and a sister, Marilyn, in infancy.  He is survived by his other siblings: Wanda (David Mergen) McDade, Tucson, AZ; Christine (John) Tolaney, Germantown, WI; Philip (Lynn) Cooksville, WI; Barbara Bednarek, Wautoma; Paul Bednarek, Wautoma; Donna (David) Glickman, Seattle, WA; Daniel (Maureen) Bednarek, Irvine, CA; Michael is further survived by nieces and nephews, good friends, Nick Johannes, John Wenzel and the Rovney family, many other friends and his animal family, all of whom will miss him greatly.

No service will be held.  A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at the Richford Community Center beginning at 11:00 a.m. Everyone is invited to come and share memories and celebrate the life of Michael.
