Michael "Mike" E. Kapp

December 15, 1944 — October 19, 2024

Michael E. Kapp, age 79, of Redgranite, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024 at his son’s home in Kenosha.

He was born December 15, 1944 in Wild Rose, the son of Edward C. and Vashti Sara Lucille Booth.  He married He married is high school sweetheart Joan Edgar on August 28, 1965 in Redgranite. They were high school Homecoming King and Queen.

Mike grew up on Silver Lake, graduated from Wautoma High School in 1963, where he was Homecoming King his senior year. After graduation, he entered the United States Navy, was a Nuclear Reactor Operator for 6 years and served on the USS Enterprise. He later received his Bachelor in Business degree from UW Oshkosh and attended Oklahoma City University Law School. He received his Pastoral Administration degree from Liberty University. He worked for various law firms and the U.S. Census Bureau.  Mike served on the Waushara County Board and was a past President of the Redgranite Lions Club.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and served as Great Lakes Regional Director for Quail Unlimited. He was also featured in Outdoor Life 25 in 2010 as one of six people selected as best in conservation. He taught Hunter Safety for many years and was an Eagle Scout.

He is survived by his wife Joan Kapp, three children, Todd, Taylor, and Natalie-Ann, seven grandchildren, one brother, one niece, two nephews,  several great nieces and nephews, other relatives and many special friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wautoma.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Stahl Funeral Home, Wautoma, and from 1:00 p.m. Thursday until the time of service at the church.Burial will be in the Foster Road Cemetery, Redgranite with full military honors.
