Neil R. Davis, age 95, formerly of Plainfield and Saukville, WI, passed away Sunday evening, December 15, 2024 at Thedacare Medical Center in Neenah.

He was born March 29, 1929 on the old family farm near Wild Rose, Wisconsin, the son of Daniel R. and Mary Alice (Cary) Davis. He married Rita M. Pockat on July 5, 1953; together they raised four wonderful children, Diane, Bill, Tom and Jim.

Neil graduated from Wild Rose High School in 1947 and later served his country in the United States Army 2nd Armored Division in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He later worked at Nekoosa Papers and then Continental Can Company in Milwaukee, WI, where he retired after 39 years of service and was a member of United Steel Workers Local 4454.

Neil liked to visit, made friends easily and was always willing to help anyone. He worked the western wheat harvest seasons in his younger years. He also liked cars and driving and later enjoyed many camping trips driving throughout the west with his family. Neil was  a very active man that enjoyed riding his bike until the age of 90. He also enjoyed driving potato truck for local farmers.

Neil is survived by his wife of 71 years, Rita M. Davis; his three sons, Bill Davis, Tom (Anita) Davis and Jim Davis; three grandchildren, Katherine Flannery, Matt (Abby) Davis and Mike Davis; his son-in-law, Gregg Flannery; two sisters, Shirley Smith and Mary Gittings; other relatives and many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Diane, his parents, and siblings, Billy, Pearl, Danny and Opal.
