Biography

Norma S. Morey, age 84, of Hancock, passed away Friday, May 14, 2010, at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc.She was born January 2, 1926 in the Town of Colburn, Adams County, the daughter of August and Stella (Waltenberg) Petersen. She married Bernard E. Morey on May 14, 1946 in Arkdale, WI. He preceded her in death on February 26, 1981. Norma was a 1944 graduate of Hancock High School. She and her late husband resided in Milwaukee for many years where she worked as an inspector for Briggs & Stratton Corp. Norma enjoyed traveling having visited all 50 states and the 10 Provinces and three Territories of Canada. She also enjoyed canning, crocheting and needlework. She is survived by three children, James (Helen) Morey, Florida, Lou Ann Morey, Racine, Mary (Robert) Wankowski, North Prairie; six grandchildren, Tina, Tammy, Rebecca, Anna, Jill, and Jack; four great-grandchildren, Justin, Emily, Sydney, Taylor; her sister-in-law, Ella Petersen. She is further survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, Jim Petersen. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home in Plainfield with Pastor Kelli Fisher of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Coloma officiating. Burial will be in Hancock Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. A Memorial has been established for the Amyloidosis Foundation.
