Richard P. Werner, age 60, of Hancock, died suddenly and unexpectedly, Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at his home.
He was born October 25, 1960 in Oshkosh the son of Richard A. and Lucy Priebe Werner. Richard married Teresa Schlaeger on August 10, 1985 in Neenah.
Richard graduated from Oshkosh West after graduation he enlisted in the Army and served his country until his honorable discharge on August 31,2011. He lived in Oshkosh and Neenah for many years until he bought his home in Hancock and bought the Hotel Bar in Hancock and operated that with his wife. Richard was a man that loved people and spending time with family. He will be fondly remembered for his love of serving people.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Werner, Hancock; his daughters, Virginia R. (Paul) Perzinski and Jacqueline (Adam Nunez) Werner; his father, Richard Werner; his three grandchildren, Oliver J. Perzinski, Peter M. Perzinski, Elena I. Werner-Nunez; three sisters, Carla Morey, Jane Melby and Sandra Zielke; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, sister Debbie and baby brother.
A Celebration Gathering will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 1pm. to 4pm at the Hancock Hotel Bar with a Military Honors Tribute at 4 pm in the veteran’s center next to the Hancock Library.
