Rita Mae (Switalski) Witkowski

Rita M. Witkowski, age 83, of Almond, passed away peacefully, Monday morning, November 27, 2017 at her home with her family at her side.

She was born May 23, 1934 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Alice and Bernard Switalski.  She married Marion L. Witkowski on August 27, 1966 in Milwaukee.

Rita and Marion moved to Ellis, Wisconsin where they ran the Dew Drop Inn for three years.  They then moved to Almond where Rita enjoyed various part-time jobs until retiring.  Rita was an active member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, regularly sharing her love of people as a greeter before mass.  Her greatest enjoyment of all, was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Marion, six children; Cheryl Kizewski, Donna (Tony) Zurawski, Bruce (Diane) Witkowski, Penny (Tim) Kerske, Robby (Sandy Schmitt) Gurzynski, and Patty (Dan) Woitczak; her 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and Godson, Jeff Stasiewski.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother and one great-grandchild.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Plainfield.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.  A private burial will be in the parish cemetery at a later date.

Lunch will be held at Ponderosa Pines, 287 WI-73, Bancroft, following the service.
