HANCOCK/MADISON- Robert L. Windschiegl, age 75, of Hancock, formerly of Madison, passed away suddenly on Friday morning, March 27, 2015, at his home. He was born Jan. 12, 1940, in Madison, the son of Carl R. and Dorothy L. Windschiegl. Bob was a 1958 graduate of Madison East High School where he excelled in track and band. He later served his country in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict, and after his service to his country, he attended Madison Business College where he received his degree in accounting and later was employed at Virchow Krause and Hanley Implement. Bob was a proud member of the American Legion Post No. 343 of Hancock, a member and past president of the Rotary Club of Sun Prairie where he received the Paul Harris Fellowship Award. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, hunting, bird watching, spending time with family and friends, a waltz or two and great big hugs. Bob is survived by his three children, Richard Windschiegl of Madison, Lee (Greg) Schneider of Northbrook, IL., and Mary Langer of McFarland; the mother of his children, Judy Windschiegl; nine grandchildren, Heather, Sean, Amber, Michelle, Kaitlyn, Meredith, Natalie, Josh and Cody; his brother, Peter (Marilyn) Windschiegl and their daughter, Kristin, all of Monona; his wife, Donna J. Windschiegl of Hancock; two stepchildren, Renee (Tyson) and Theresa (Denver); five step-grandchildren; and is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
