Robert “Bob” Lehr, age 87, of Wautoma, passed away peacefully, Saturday morning May 6, 2023 at Berlin Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 10, 1935 in Redgranite, the son of William and Signe (Ronningen) Lehr.  He married Carol J. Nowak on June 18, 1955 in Berlin.

Bob was a 1953 graduate of Wautoma High School where he excelled in several sports.  High School is where he met the love of his life Carol, they were high school sweethearts and Homecoming King and Queen in 1952.  After graduating from Wautoma High School, he served his country in the United States Army from 1958 until 1960.  He served alongside Elvis Presley in Germany.  After his service to his country, he returned home and started Lehr’s Heating and Plumbing from 1962 until the present.  Bob was an avid outdoorsmen, who enjoyed hunting, sports, and being with his family.  The highlight in Bob’s life was watching his children and then later his grandchildren in all of their sports.  He truly enjoyed this time with them and was always a great supporter of them.  He especially enjoyed his visits with his precious four great-grandchildren.  Bob had a great influence on many young athlete’s where he dedicated his time to coaching youth sports in Wautoma for many years.  He was also a member of the Red Wing Club and enjoyed attending auctions looking for that perfect treasure.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Carol J. Lehr; his children, Bill (Tammy) Lehr, Jim (Kim) Lehr, Julie Lehr, Joe (Nicole) Lehr; his grandchildren, Amber (Josh) Gabrilska, Arron (Jen) Lehr, Ellen Lehr, Grace (Nate) Loging, Emma Lehr, Sophia Lehr, Avery Lehr, Garrett Lehr; great grandchildren, Gage and Tate Gabrilska, Reed and Isla Lehr; his sisters-in-law, Alice Testin and Donna Patterson; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Tony and Gertrude Nowak, a brother and sister-in-law, Orville and Nancy Lehr.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Stahl Celebration & Remembrance Center, Wautoma with services at 7:00 p.m. Bob will be laid to rest in the Marion Cemetery.
