Roger L. Frost, age 92 of Plainfield, died April 21, 2015 at Wild Rose Hospital. Roger was born January 4, 1923 to Robert James and Margery J. (Church) Frost at their farm home in the Rudolph area. Roger worked on the home farm and attended the local schools and P.J. Jacobs High School. He also assisted his brother: Theron "Pete" in the family milk route business. Roger married the late Marjorie (Miller) Frost on June 22, 1942. They were happily married for 59 ½ years. Early in their marriage, Roger joined the U.S. Navy and served his country during WWII. On April 21, 2007, Roger married Jean (Jones) Makaryk in Plainfield and was happily married for exactly 8 years. Roger became a Master Plumber after the war and had a Plumbing & Heating business in the Plainfield area for many years and was a Plumbing Union member for over 65 years. He was active in the community, serving on the Fire Dept. and Lions Club. Roger loved his family and enjoyed visiting family and friends. He also enjoyed woodworking, deer hunting, fishing and watching the Badgers, Packers, Denver Broncos. Roger loved watching the birds, enjoyed nature and gardening. Roger was an inventor and innovator and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Roger is survived by his wife: Jean Frost, Plainfield; sons: Roger G. (Jennie) Frost, Durango, CO, Chuck Frost, Plainfield; daughter: Brenda (Mark) Young, Graysville, TN; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brother: James Robert (Lynn) Frost, Fontana, Garth Frost, Rudolph; sister: Betty (Jeff) Jeffcoat, Lubbock, TX; step-son: Edward (Barb) Makaryk; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife: Marjorie Frost; sisters: Marion Bowker, Erma Coddington and brother: Theron "Pete" Frost.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30AM on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield with military honors to follow. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Paul Gregersen with burial in Linwood Union Cemetery, Stevens Point. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 1PM to 3PM and again on Monday at the funeral home from 10:30AM until the time of services at 11:30AM.
