Roland D. Franks

Roland D. Franks, age 88, of Bancroft, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, May 2, 2020 at his home of natural causes.

He was born June 3, 1931 in Oshkosh, the son of Lloyd and Opal (Footit) Franks.  He married Joyce L. King on March 18, 1950, she preceded him in death on November 23, 2016.

Roland was employed at Consolidated Papers for 38 years.  He was an outdoors enthusiast, enjoying trap shooting, hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors with his family and friends.  His greatest enjoyment of all, was his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  One of his favorite enjoyments was his dogs, Daisy and Dolly.

He is survived by his three children, Dennis (Susan) Franks, Bancroft, Bradley Franks (special friend, Tammy Adyniec), Hancock and Julie (Mike) Palek, Hancock, MI; his loving grandchildren, Forrest (Amy) Franks, Bradley and Jordan Franks, Antone (Shaelyn) Palek, Steve (Kristy) Palek, David (Jess) Palek; his great grandchildren, Alyssa Franks, Camilla and Lillian Palek, Allayna and Brynnlee Palek and Jacklyn Franks;  his brother, Delton Franks and brother-in-law, Kenneth Chamberlain; he is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Franks and sister, Patricia Chamberlain.
