Ruby Marie Alverson, 82, Plainfield, died Tuesday morning, June 1, 2010.
Funeral services will be held at Leikness and Stahl Funeral Home in Plainfield. The wake will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, June 7 with the funeral to follow the next day, June 8, at 11 a.m. with Rev. David O. Leistra officiating.
Marie was born on July 28, 1927, in Selma, NC, a daughter of James Terry and Minnie Batten Corbett. She was married to Carl Alverson on Jan. 25, 1947, in Virginia. Later that year, they moved to the family farm in the Town of Oasis.
Marie was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her son, James Alverson and his wife, Diane, Plainfield; four daughters, Valerie Mata, Plainfield; Diane Fabich and her husband, Bill, Plover; Dawn Lucas, Plainfield; and Shelby Chase and husband, Joe, also of Plainfield; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Grace Harrell, and one brother, John Corbett.
