Shirley M. (Lowery) Lyle

Shirley M.  Lyle , age 84, of rural Hancock, passed away peacefully, Sunday evening, May 7, 2017 at her home.

She was born September 11, 1932 in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Walter and Sylvia (Gehring) Lowery.  She married William Lyle on September 3, 1950.  He preceded her in death on March 18, 1986.

Shirley was a member of the Hancock Wesleyan Church where she enjoyed Sunday worship services and visiting with family and friends.  She also enjoyed her flower gardens and shopping

She is survived by her children, Diane (Michael) Gustin, Hancock, Larry Lyle, Bancroft; her grandchildren, Michael Gustin, William “BJ” Lyle, Crystal Gustin; her great granddaughter, Katie Gustin; her sister, Barbara Diekoff; special friends, Alene Losey and Mary Jane Hymbaugh; further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Orville Lowery.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 1:30pm in the Stahl Funeral Home with the Pastor Lois Scott officiating.  Shirley will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Hancock Cemetery.  Family and friends may call from 11:30 a.m. Thursday until the time of services at the funeral home.
