Shirly L. Wright, age 74, of Wautoma, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on October 22, 2024 at Appleton Medical Center.
She was born August 15, 1950 in Grundy, Virginia the daughter of James and Goldie Lockhart. She married the love her life, Wayne Wright, on May 18, 1965 in Virginia. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2014.
Shirley moved to Plainfield, Wisconsin around 1973, where she raised her family and was employed at Midwestern Farms for approximately 40 years. A hard-working lady that made a good life for herself and her family, despite facing many hardships throughout her early years. Nothing was more precious to her, than family. She loved having her immediate and extended family with her. She would greet you with a big hug and don’t you ever think of leaving her house without another one! The many family gatherings, with bluegrass music playing and dancing in the kitchen are fond memories for us all. Shirley loved a good garage sale and found any knick-knack given to her precious.
Shirley accepted the Lord as her savior when she was approximately 14-years-old. She was a devoted Christian, and wanted everyone she loved to commit their lives to Jesus. Even at the end, she was praising the Lord and trying to get family into heaven, so she can see them again. She was a faithful member of Crossroads Family Church for over 35 years. Shirley absolutely loved her church family, and she was so appreciative for her church helping transport her to and from dialysis on Wednesdays. Her favorite church-transporter, of course, being her “2nd son,” Dan Becker.
She is survived by her loving children: Nora (Jeff) House, Laura (Jay) Keenlance, Jennifer (Shane) Millard all of Hancock, WI and David (Billi) Wright of Yuba, Ok; her precious grandchildren: Jeffrey House Jr, Christopher House, Thomas House, Jessica Beggs, Jeffrey McIntee, Denzel Beggs Jr., Jimmie Keenlance Jr., Melissa Keenlance, Trevor Wright, Samantha Wright, Cole Wright, Taylor Millard, and Tyler Millard; 18 great grandchildren; her siblings: Jesse (Sandra Poetzel) Lockhart, Chuck (Adrienne) Lockhart, Herman (Sandy) Lockhart, Donna (Darrell) Footit. Shirley raised her younger sisters and looked at them as her daughters; further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four grandchildren; her brother: Eddie Lockhart, and her sister: Brenda Beggs.
