Terry L. Koats

Terry L. Koats (Toad), age 52, of Neshkoro, passed away peacefully, Sunday afternoon September 26, 2021 at ThedaCare Hospital in Appleton after a courageous battle with COVID.

He was born November 2, 1968 the son of Lugene L. and Susan L. Koats.  On May 2, 1998 married the love of his life Kay Propson and together they raised three loving children, MacKenzie, Caleb and Collin.

Terry was a 1986 graduate of Westfield High School.  Terry had an affectionate smile and a laugh that would bring joy to anyone.  Terry had many passions in his short life, he was an avid outdoorsman, loved to watch any Wisconsin sports team, but his greatest enjoyment was attending his kid’s athletic events.  Terry was a very unselfish man who devoted much time to coaching youth sports and supporting local fund-raising events.  He was a past member of the Neshkoro Fire Department and a current member of Zion Lutheran Church in Neshkoro.

Terry will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Kay Koats; his children that he was so proud of MacKenzie, Caleb and Collin Koats; his mother, Susan Koats; his brothers, Carey (Candy) Koats and Jerry (Jenni) Koats; further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lugene Koats and his grandparents.

A Celebration of Terry’s life will be held on October 16, 2021 at the Neshkoro Fire Station from 11:00-2:00.  In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in Terry’s name. To celebrate Terry's love of sports please wear your favorite sports attire.
