Vera Ann (Krause) Erdman, was called home suddenly July 9, 2017 of a heart attack. Vera was born at St. Michaels Stevens Point, April 1, 1949 to Elaine (Rusch) and Martin Krause. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Amherst. Vera married Allan H. Erdman on August 29, 1970 in Amherst. When the Lord called her home, she was doing what she enjoyed most, working with her husband of 46 years.
Vera filled her days on this earth by tirelessly serving others. She showed her great love for family and friends by making their favorite foods and helping care for medical needs. Introducing a stranger to Vera meant that Vera would make time for all the conversation in the world, and would treat that person like a life-long friend. Vera found many other ways to serve in her community – cutting hair, selling Tupperware, organizing the fall dinner at St. John’s Lutheran Church (Almond), helping with American Legion Post 339 activities, participating in Plainfield Business Association activities, Town of Oasis Clerk which she served for 40 years, and greater than 25 years of being the smiling face behind the counter at Plainfield Feed and Supply. In her “free” time Vera played cards and games, gardened, and cooked. Always caring about everyone’s well-being, her frequent “check-ins” with friends and family will be greatly missed.
Her smile, encouragement, cheering voice at grandkids’ events will leave a huge void. She is family famous for nurturing, caregiving, and cooking. Her grandkids will miss Peanut Butter Bars, Molasses Cookies and chicken soup. Vera found great joy in celebrating and retelling the achievements of her 10 grandchildren. She also was extremely excited for the birth of her first great-grandchild.
Vera will be greatly missed by her husband Allan, children Lorrie (Kevin) Riemer of Mequon, Rodger (Jean) Erdman of Wisconsin Rapids, and Paul (Sabrina) Erdman of Almond. Her grandchildren Sarah, Joshua, Timothy, Paul, Hannah Riemer, Megan (Bob Gilbert), Austin Erdman, Lance, Lily Rose, Logan Erdman and her great-grandson, Philip. She is further survived by her mother Elaine, sister Nila (Pat) Peskie and brother, Roy (Pam) Krause and many loved nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Martin.
