Victor "Vic" S. Schiro

Victor  Schiro, age 86, of Neshkoro, passed away peacefully, Saturday morning, March 25, 2023 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.

He was born December 22, 1936 in Madison, the son of George and Nellie (Lo Presto) Schiro.  He married Janice “Jan” Schiro on August 29, 1959 in Madison.  She preceded him in death on August 17, 2021.

He was a Petty Officer 2nd Class in the Naval Reserves.  He graduated from Madison Central High School and later found his passion in the construction trades.  Victor was an active member of St. James Catholic Church, Neshkoro where he sang in the church choir and was the handyman for many years.  He was a business owner in the community for 20 years. Many locals and weekenders came to Club 73 for good times and friendship. He enjoyed golfing, casino trips, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Lisa (Tom) Matulich, George Schiro, Rick (Sarah) Schiro, Kara (Mike) Horst; his grandchildren, Andrew and Bryan Matulich, Nick Schiro, Hannah and Hailey Schiro and Adam and Jonathan Horst and his sister Mary Ann Lynch; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.

He was also preceded in death by his son, James Schiro.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church, Neshkoro.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 am Monday until the time of services. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in the Resurrection Cemetery in Madison.
